Thriving in the Changing Workplace
Have you every noticed how many people you know do work the don't enjoy, even hate. Why do people tolerate work that gives them so little joy for so many frustrating years? No one, with any initiative should stay in work that gives them no joy and if you lose such a job, be grateful because you will have been blessed. Good work, what the Budhists call, "right livlihood" really isn't work at all--it's joy because it fulfills and gives us purpose. Matthew Fox said, "Work comes from insight out; work is the expression of our soul, our inner being. It is unique to the individual; it is creative. Work is an expression of the Spirit at work in the world through us. Work is that which puts us in touch with others, not so much at the level of personal interaction, but at the level of service in the community."
